Nate was so excited about his birthday this year because he was going to celebrate three times,  we took cupcakes to school,  had a little party with friends, and a family party.

He has a great group of friends and after smashing meteorites (foil paper hanging from the ceiling), crushing statue heads (paper mache), and searching the galaxy for treasure they stopped to put together a Lego set.

Nate  loves life and his least favorite part of the day is bedtime.  Keeping him in bed has been a problem since he was a toddler and could climb out of the crib.  At odd hours of the night we would hear a noise and find him sitting somewhere playing with his toys.  This hasn't changed as he has gotten older.  While it was dark for the last few months Nate would wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning, look outside, and determine it was time to get up.  He would get completely dressed and then come into our room, wondering when we were going to have breakfast.  We would send him back to bed.  This happened so often we bought him a clock and asked him to stay in bed until at least 6:30.  He stays but the minute he knows we are up he shoots out of bed and comes running into the kitchen for breakfast. He loves the summer months when the sun stays up because we have a tendency to stay up with it.  Nate brings a lot of laughter into our home and we just love his enthusiasm for life.
