At the beginning of summer vacation we made lists of things we wanted to accomplish or learn.  Nathan wanted to learn how to make an apple pie.  Due to my baking skills the chance of the pie turning out yummy was about 50%, so I kept putting it off.  Finally, with no more excuses that could be used, we made an apple pie.  I'm so glad we did, it was both beautiful and delicious.  Nathan decorated it with a star for the 4th of July and a moose  for Alaska.  

One proud baker.  He actually ate two slices! I guess that is one way to get a fruit serving or two.
