This summer is going too fast. I wanted to write down some of our favorite memories of Ian, Mandys, and Emma visit to preserve for those cold winter days when we don't have any family around. So here are 10 things we will remember, not necessarily in order.
1. Although dad was surprised, the look on Hailey's face when Ian walked into the living was so cute. She sat up, looked at Ian and then just asked "Ian"?, as if she couldn't believe it.
2. Mandy played chess with Nate more than once. She was sister enough to give him a hard time when he might have been cheating. Way to go Mandy!
3. Ian and Nathan played their own brand of "frolf". Every time Ian and Mandy visit I have to play the games they introduced to Nathan once they leave. But hearing Nathan's laughter when he played with Ian is worth it. Thank you Ian!
4. We just adored Emma's energy and her love for the dogs. She followed them around, sat with them, pet them, tried to play with them. She is probably their biggest fan. We enjoyed her constant chatting and her wonderful smile. She is getting so big.
5. We certianly don't want to forget the fishing trip dad and Ian took, leaving late enough to catch the limit before midnight and then perhaps their limit after. Good thing we have a supply of halibut in the freezer. The fact that they had to wait at a trail because three grizzly bears had just walked through made it a great Alaska experience even if the fish weren't biting.
6. Late night card games and Mandy's winning streak. Let's play Canasta again sometime!
7. Walking the market and downtown to get some good food. Nothing beats fried halibut.
8. Hailey loved having Emma around to practice her child care skills.
9. Laughter. There is always a lot of it when family comes to visit.
10. Saying good bye was too hard. We sure miss family.
We are so grateful they were able to visit.

It was so fun, and sometimes I forget that Nate is only 6. He seems so much older than that. so I should have let a few things slide. but He was able to teach me how to play chess, just over three games. But it was so much fun. Thanks for just letting us come and hang out. And such yummy food! And ofcourse way to much pop.
