Battle of the Books Update

Friday Hailey and her team went to their competition to decide who gets to represent the district at the state level.  They lost the round and were devastated.  Through the tears and disappointment they still showed good sportmanship by shaking the hands and congratulating their opponents.  One teacher from the other school told them to place first when your school has only been in the competition for two years was amazing and to look on the bright side...they can now read whatever book they want to read.  Another mom took the team out for ice cream which helped soothe the pain of telling their classmates they had lost.  As a mom I'm so proud that she handled both winning and losing as a good sport.
