Thanksgiving had a different feel this year because we were so far away from family and friends. Most of our new friends in the area are in the same position, so we met with other families for dinner and games. Dinner was good but it was strange not to have a plate of sweet & dill pickles or green olives. I made a mental note to make sure those are items are included next year! The day after Thanksgiving it snowed all day creating a beautiful postcard day.
N. plays in snow as if it were sand.
H. diligently worked on her igloo which is growing not just from her efforts but from the snow fall. She relies on the snow piles created by the plows to get her "bricks".
We went sledding at a neighbors house.
Stopping for hot cocoa
To warm up I spent the afternoon making a red velvet cake. It was my first attempt and although it turned out good, there are a few revisions I'll make next time.
We had such a quiet peaceful day.

Fun pictures! At least Hailey has all winter to work on that same igloo and know it will never melt!
