Every year we let the children buy ice cream from the ice cream man 1 time. This year we have spent countless minutes standing, waving and yelling on our corner to attract the ice cream man's attention. Because of the unseasonably warm weather we have found ourselves in the last weeks of September, still waving, jumping and yelling to the ice cream. But no matter how much we waved or yelled we were unable to get his attention. FINALLY tonight my children with their friends waving, yelling and jumping on the street corner, got his attention. When he pulled up to our home and I noticed the only reasonably priced Popsicle was a cotton candy swirl for a $1. My inner mom voice said "make everyone get that Popsicle" but my fun mom voice said "OK, let's start with the youngest, what do you want?". $12 and a few happy smiles later another summer memory reinforced, I decided summer can finally end.
